Myrtle Wiginton Baucum was born January 12, 1897 at Altus, Oklahoma. She died May 8, 1993 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. She married James Benton Baucum December 21, 1913 at Altus and he preceded her in death in 1979. She was a life long resident of Altus and Jackson County and long time and active member of the First Baptist Church.
Graveside services are scheduled for 10 am Monday at the Altus Cemetery with the Rev. Keith Wiginton officiating. Services under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Survivors include children Lahoma Raines of Altus, Oklahoma; Virginia smith of Lubbock, Texas; Bill Baucum of San Antonio, Texas; Don Baucum of Quannah, Texas; Benton Baucum of Altus, Oklahoma; Tom Baucum of Denver, Colorado; sister, Jewell Mitchell of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; fourteen grandchildren; twenty three great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by James Benton Baucum, one brother, W.O. Wington.
