Beverly Jo "Jody" Roach, age 72, of Mangum, passed away Friday, December 5, 2014, at Grace Living Center, in Mangum.
Mrs. Roach was born in Oklahoma City on August 27, 1942, to Joseph L. and Evelyn (Stone) West. After graduating from Harding High School, in Oklahoma City, in 1960, she attended Columbia University for two years. Moving back to Oklahoma City, she began a thirty year career in the insurance industry. She later married Doyle Odom and to this union, one daughter, Lisa, was born. Moving to Mangum in 1992, she married Danny Roach on July 17, 1999 and they spent fifteen wonderful years together before her death. A member of the Red Hatters Society, Jody enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, fishing, knitting and cooking, but most of all, she loved being with her family and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, Jody is survived by her husband, Danny Roach, of Mangum; four children, Lisa Darragh and husband Jim of El Reno, Oklahoma, Susan Ankney and husband Albert of Mangum, John Roach and wife Amber of Indiahoma and Lisa Metcalfe of Kona Hawaii; seven grandchildren, Abby Darragh, Michelle Roach, Stephanie Hughes-Acamo, Joshua Carter, Kelly Wright, Amanda Roach and Michael Metcalfe; one brother, Joe L. West, Jr. of Houston, Texas along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Jody Roach will be at 2 p.m., Monday, December 8, 2014, at the Trinity Baptist Church with Pastor James Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow at the Granite City Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
