Obituary for Diane Ritthaler
Diane Ritthaler, 82, resident of Altus, Oklahoma passed away at her home on Saturday, January 22, 2022.
Diane was born in Ponca City, Oklahoma on December 14, 1939, to parents, Thomas Sutton and Joann Tucker Sutton. She grew up and graduated high school in Olustee and continued her education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
Diane worked at the Western Washington Research & Extension Center at Washington State University for over 30 years. She spent time in Puyallup, Washington before relocating back to Altus, Oklahoma after retiring from her work career.
On personal level, Diane was an avid reader, but favored romance novels. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and was involved with the B-A-L-L-S group there. Diane was also extremely passionate about her family, which she doted on whenever she had the opportunity. She loved her family devotedly and valued being a caring grandmother above anything else. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Preceding Diane in death are her parents: T.P. and Joann Sutton; and by her son, Thomas Paul Ritthaler.
Diane is survived by her son, Michael Don Higgs; a sister: Jan Kastner; her granddaughter: Jamee Nichole Higgs; a brother-in-law: Floyd Kastner; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Lowell - Tims Funeral Home Chapel, Altus, Oklahoma.
