Jackie Hart, age 65 of Vinson, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, March 7, 2014 after a one vehicle car accident near Reed, Oklahoma.

Jackie was born in Hollis, Oklahoma on July 28, 1948 to Jack William and Stella Ann (Mistretta) Hart. Jackie grew up in the Vinson Community except for two years in Amarillo, Texas and four years in Temple City, California. Jackie returned to Vinson in 1959 where he resided until his death. Jackie served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was part of several counterinsurgency operations in the Republic of Vietnam as a Rifleman and Team Leader between 1968 and 1969 and he received the Army Accommodation Medal as well as other awards and decorations and an honorable discharge. Jackie farmed and ranched in the Vinson community, however most of his career he was employed as truck driver of “big-rigs” hauling freight and cattle border-to-border and coast-to-coast of the USA. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Vinson and he was employed by the Oklahoma Correctional Industries at the Oklahoma Reformatory in Granite.

Preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Iradell “Ike” Maurice Hart; Jackie is survived by one sister, Cheryl (Hart) Aaron and her husband John William of Meadowlakes, Texas; three nephews, John William Aaron, III and his wife Michelle of San Antonio, Texas; Darren Keith Hart and his wife LeeAnn of Vinson; Jeffery Maurice Hart and his wife Amy Jill of Vinson; one niece, Dr. Kimberly Dawn Aaron, M.D. of Ft. Worth, Texas; six great nephews, Damon Keith Hart of Weatherford, Oklahoma; Colt Nash Hart of Vinson; Timber Lane Hart of Gould; Canyon Dean Hart of Hollis; John William Aaron, IV of San Antonio, Texas; John David “Jack” Aaron of Fort Worth, Texas; five great nieces, Haylee Kenmore of Oklahoma City; Josey Kenmore of Mangum, Audrey Mae Hart of Vinson, Ella Jewell Hart of Vinson; Kathryn Jewell Aaron of San Antonio, Texas; as well as other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Greer Funeral Home in Mangum, Oklahoma.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Vinson, Oklahoma with Pastor Ron Ledbetter officiating. Interment will follow at Cave Creek Cemetery near Vinson with Military and Oklahoma State Corrections Honors. Services are under the direction of Greer Funeral Home-Mangum.
