Obituary for Zelma Ray Harrison
Zelma Ray Harrison, age 103, of Altus passed away Thursday, July 1, 1999. She was born March 30, 1896 at Tom Bean, Texas ti James Benton and Katie Mae Wilson ray. she married Walter Lee Harrison on January 25, 1920 in the First Baptist Church, Altus. She has been a member of the First Baptist Church since 1916.
Mrs Harrison was a seamstress and Alteration lady at Russell's Department Store, Wilson's Powder Puff, Town and Country Dress Shop, Austin's Men Store and Janet's.
She is survived by one daughter, Wilma Lea Briscoe; of Altus; two sisters, Geneva Ray, Ruth Lewis both of Altus, Oklahoma ;three grandsons and wives, Brent and Robin Briscoe, Derek and Tina Briscoe both of Altus, Oklahoma, Rodney L. and Tammi Briscoe, of Abilene, Texas; great-grandchildren, Kristopher Todd Briscoe of Phoenix, Arizona, Kevin Briscoe, Jeremy Briscoe, Brad Briscoe, all of Altus, Oklahoma, Paul Briscoe and Chance Briscoe both of Abilene, Texas, five great-granddaughters, Mindy Briscoe Brock of Jacksonville, Florida, Ferra Briscoe, of Abilene,
Texas, Samantha Briscoe of Gulfshore, Alabama, Lisa Larrabe of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Haley Newberry, of Altus, Oklahoma; one great-great grandson, Devinn Larrabe of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; her parents; and four brothers, Dean, Don, Doug, Howard Ray.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 am Tuesday, July 6, 1999 at First Baptist Church in Altus with Rev. Keith Wiginton officiating and Rev. Eugene Foreman Assisting. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
The family will have visitation from 5:00 to 7:00pm Monday evening at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
