Zelda Hill, age 82, a longtime resident of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at her home.

Zelda was born in Stephens County, near Bray, Oklahoma on September 26, 1935 to her parents Manuel Arthur Rogers and Etta Mae (Burnley) Rogers. As a young girl the family moved to Altus, Oklahoma in 1946 where Zelda attended Altus High and went on to attend Western Oklahoma State College and the Southwest Technology Center in Altus. Zelda met the love of her life Larry Donald Hill in Altus where he was stationed at the Altus Air Force Base. They were united in marriage on December 6, 1954 in Vernon, Texas and they enjoyed 48 years of marriage together. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church in Tipton and was a member and affiliated with many clubs and organizations including, the Grand National Horsemen's Association, a Girl Scout leader and Cub Scout leader, 4-H Riding Club leader, the Women's International Bowling Congress, and many other community outings. Zelda and Larry were the King and Queen of the 11th Air Refueling Squadron in the later 60's. Zelda enjoyed reading and writing and was active in the local writer's club, she also enjoyed cooking and watching the Wheel-of-Fortune. Zelda loved her family very much and took great care of them and she treasured the time attending and watching all of her grandchildren's sporting events.

Preceded in death by her parents and her husband Larry in 2002; her son, Larry Dalton Hill; her daughter, Darla Jean Hill; two brothers, Marion Calvin Rogers; and Arthur Dalton Rogers; Zelda is survived by two daughters, Zelda Kathleen 'Kathy' Armstrong and husband Willy of Friendship; and Karen Marie Hubert and husband Jeff also of Friendship; her brother, Rolland Rogers of Altus; twelve grandchildren, Brianna, Cord, Seth, Tabitha, T.J., Jamie, Kaleb, Danica, Barrett, Ricky, Brandy, and Larry; nine great grandchildren, Kaycee, Noah, Zack, Liam, Lottie, Desmond, Gage, Jakob, and Maci; numerous nieces and nephews as well as many other family members and friends.

The family will greet friends at visitation from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Thursday evening, June 21, 2018 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus.

Celebration of Life services will be at 3:00 pm on Friday, June 22, 2018 at the Lowell-Tims Chapel. In-Urnment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory of Altus, Oklahoma.
