Obituary for Zane Ellen Adams
Zane Ellen Adams, age 60 of Altus, passed away May 24, 2003. Memorial Services are scheduled for Tuesday, May 27, 2003, at 10:00am at the St. Paul's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Haynes Dugan and Rev. Dick Rosenbaum officiating. Lowell-Tims Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Zane was born April 1, 1943 in Altus, Oklahoma to parents William "Edward" Adams and Rosa Mae Adams. She graduated from Altus High School in 1961. Following graduation , she attended business school in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
She married Donald Hansen in 1962 and lived in Oklahoma City until 1975 when she moved to New Orleans, Louisiana. Zane returned to Altus in 1984. She worked for the Wilmes Superstore for twenty years, where she was Office manager.
St. Paul's Episcopal Church was a very important part of her life. She was active in many different capacities in her church including President of the Daughters of the King, member of the Vestry, as well as, a Vestry Clerk and member of the Episcopal Church Women. Additionally, she was a member of the choir and the Alter Guild. She also served as a Lay Eucharisaic Minister. Zane tutored for the Great Plains Literacy Council. She also enjoyed her weekly bridge game and sewing.
Zane was preceded in death by her father, William "Ed" Adams and one son, Donald Hansen, who passed away in 1991. She is survived by her mother, Rosa Adams of Altus; two children, Aaron Hansen and wife Celia of Leavenworth, Kansas and Kathy Davis of Altus; a brother, Gary Adams and wife Ethelene of Houston, Texas; a sister, Janis McSwain and husband Rick of Morrison, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Aubrey Hansen, Lonnie Hansen, Jacob Hansen, Miles Davis, Kelsey Davis; daughter in law, YunOk Hansen; two nephews, Shane Adams of Houston, Texas, David Mc Swain of Stillwater, Oklahoma, niece, Kim Hansen of Edmond, Oklahoma and a host of other relatives and friends. the family has asked that memorials be made to the Alter Guild at St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
