Obituary for Winnie L. Garrison
Winnie L. Garrison, age 85, passed away Thursday, August 22nd, 1996, at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Services have been scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, at the First Baptist Church with Sonny Tims officiating. Interment will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home. The family will be receiving visitors at the Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. tonight.

Mrs. Garrison was born March 24th, 1911, in Brady, Texas to Thomas Lee and Lillie Belle (Ellis) Spraggins. She married Guy W. Garrison on June 26, 1929 in Elmer, OK. He preceded her in death on April 21, 1975. Mrs. Garrison had been a resident of Altus and Jackson County for over 71 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and of the Eastern Star. She had worked as a seamstress for the Powder Puff for many years.

Survivors include: three children, Roy Garrison and wife Marie of Altus, OK, Lynn Garrison and wife Linda of Elmer, OK and Pat Leverett and husband Paul (Bud) of Duke, OK; one sister, Betty Joyce Atchison and husband Gorden of Anaheim, CA; nine grandchildren, Stephen Leverett, Bret Garrison, Regina Farquar, Jeffrey Garrison, Michael Leverett, Charles William Garrison, Sean Garrison, Shoya Garrison, Monica Babb, Carol Walker, Pat Meyer, Mark Britt and Mitz Habben; 17 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; two brothers, Samual L. and Charles T. Spraggins; one sister, Martha Olson.
