Obituary for Wince C. Lavender
Wince C. Lavender age 72 of Altus, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, May 25, 1997 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Wince was born November 2, 1924 at Wagonmound, New Mexico to the late Nelson and Manuelita "Pete" (Durant) Lavender. Wince attended school at Porter High. He served in the United States Army during WWII as a Technician 5th Grade with Battery D of the 96th Anti Aircraft, Artillary gun battalion. He was honorably discharged August 12, 1946. Wince was a longtime businessman of Altus. Memorial service has been scheduled for Wednesday, May 28, 1997 at 2:00pm in the Lowell-Tims funeral Home Chapel with sonny Tims officiating.

Survivors include children; Phyllis Russell of Irving, Texas; granddaughter Tandy De Wolf of Ft. Worth, Texas; great-grandson Nicholas De Wolfe of Ft. Worth, Texas and a host of many dearly loved friends.

Preceded in death by parents, brother Elmer Lavender
