CRUMP

Willis Nathaniel Crump, age 83, of Mangum, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2010, at his home, in Mangum.

Mr. Crump was born around Mangum on May 30, 1926, to Ollie and Cora (Sullivan) Crump. He lived in Oklahoma until he was 16 years old, then his family moved to Harrisburg, Oregon.

In Oregon, he worked in the lumber industry. He met and married Jean Barto, and to that union was born two children, a son named Ronald Lee and a daughter Linda Carol.

The family moved to Scottsdale, Arizona, several years later. There was a divorce, and Willis moved back to Oklahoma around 1975. He went to work at the Oklahoma State Reformatory, retiring from there in 1988. One of his greatest joys in life was visiting with family and talking about “old times”.

Willis was preceded in death by his parents, Ollie and Cora Crump and two sisters, Patsy Annette Blain and Nell Lynch. He is survived by his children Ronnie Crump of LaPine, Oregon and Linda Miler of Scottsdale, Arizona; three grandchildren; one great grandchild; one brother, Jack Crump of Junction City, Oregon; one sister, Norma Gates and husband Jerry of Granite, Oklahoma and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Graveside services for Willis Crump will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, April 5, 2010, at Riverside Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum with Pastor Danny Atchley officiating.
