Obituary for Willie L. Moore
Willie L. Moore, resident of Altus, Oklahoma passed away August 13, 2023 at English Village Nursing Home, Altus, Oklahoma.
On May 1, 1927 in Granite, Oklahoma W.W. "Wes" Cook and Oma Lee Cook celebrated the birth of their daughter Willie Lee Cook. Willie was raised and educated in the Mountain Park, Oklahoma. She was baptized and attended Primitive Baptist Church all of her life. On July 23, 1947 in Duncan, Oklahoma Willie married Jack F. Moore. This marriage would be blessed with seven children, Evie, Troy, Susan, Joyce, John, Delores, and Elaine. She enjoyed attending church and was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. Willie enjoyed playing dominoes, working on her flower beds, quilting, traveling, and sending time with her family. She had a jest for life that was unyielding. She loved everyone she came in contact with especially her twenty-six grandchildren whom she knew each and everyone grandchild's birthday. Willie leaves a legacy of love and compassion to others.
Willie was preceded in death by her father, W.W. "Wes" Cook; mother, Oma Lee Cook, sister, Marie Prowse; six children, Evie "Marie" Richardson, Joyce Lee Moore, John Edward Moore, Delores Ann Moore, Elaine Moore Streiff; one grandson; one great grand daughter; and her husband Jack F. Moore who passed on July 26, 1986. .
Left to honor Willie's memory are her daughter, Susan Rogers, grandchildren, Rhonda, Tony, Jamie, Kaylee, Anthony, John, Joshua, Jason, Carron, William, Donald, and Jessica, twenty-six great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
The Moore family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at Lowell - Tims Funeral Home, Altus, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Primitive Baptist Church Snyder, Oklahoma with interment to follow at Mountain Park Cemetery, Mountain Park, Oklahoma.
Services have been entrusted to Lowell - Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus, Oklahoma.
