Obituary for Willie D. Reece
Mr. Willie D. Reece, age 75, of 416-1/2 W. Sutherland, died at approximately 7:00 A.M., Sunday morning at his home of apparent smoke inhalation resulting from a fire of undetermined origin appearing to be centered in his kitchen area. Altus City Firemen responded to the call assisted by City Police officers, Mr. Reece being found fully clothed on a bed. He was dead on arrival at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.

Memorial services have been set for 2:00 P.M., Friday at Lowell Memorial Chapel, officiated by the Reverend M.D. Taylor. Burial will be in the Veterans Section of Altus City Cemetery.

Born February 25th, 1897 in Arcadia, Louisiana, he had been a long time resident of Altus. He was a veteran of World War II, and a member of American Legion Post #44, Altus.

Survivors include: a step-daughter, Mrs. Ruby Putney of Amarillo, Texas. Attempts are being made at this time to contact possible other relatives.
