Obituary for William Minor Southall
Minor Southall was born June 21, 1916, in Jackson County, Oklahoma. He was the son of the late James "Jim" and Mary Minor Southall. He died Monday, January 18, 1999, in Altus, Oklahoma.
He married Ina Mae Hamilton September 22, 1945, in Altus, Oklahoma. Minor graduated from
Cameron University then served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, in the European Theater.
Minor farmed in Jackson County and was employed with Civil Service at Altus Air Force Base and retired after 35 years.
Mr Southall was a member of the Methodist Church his entire life and was a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Ina M. Southall of Altus Oklahoma; two daughters, Linda Southall of Seattle, Washington; Jane Hill of Edmond, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Becky,
Scott, and Dan Hill; four sisters, Ruth Young of California, Virginia Phillips of Altus, Oklahoma, Mary Cribbs of Mangum, Oklahoma, Jimmie Helen Hamilton of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Minor Southall was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Maude Sumrow and Lola Birdsong.
Services are scheduled for 2:00pm Friday at Lowell-Tims Chapel with Rev. Noel George officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims funeral Home.
