Obituary for William Lessie Adams Sr.
William Lessie Adams Sr., age 95, pioneer resident of Jackson County, died at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital on Sunday, January 5th, 1992.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Carl McCoy. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.

Adams was born November 8th, 1896 at Royce, Texas. He was one of 13 children born to John and Nancy Adams. He came to Oklahoma in 1924 in a wagon and farmed in the Friendship and Elmer communities until 1952. He then worked as a night watchmen for several years until he retired at age 83. He married Dortha Parks February 15, 1916.

Survivors include: five children, William L. Adams, Jr. and wife Edna, Helen Young and husband Lewis and Doris Allen and husband Alvin, all of Altus, OK, S. R. Adams and wife Peggy of Moses Lake, WA and Fred Adams and wife Sandra of Refugio, TX; 21 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: his wife, Dortha Adams (1974); son, Lee Roy Adams (1976); 12 brothers and sisters; six grandchildren.
