In his early Altus years Bill worked as a mechanic for several shops and ran a gas station/mechanic shop with Gene Graham and also operated his own mechanic shop in Headrick. In later years Bill operated his gunsmith operation in Headrick. Bill enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing and his work as a gunsmith.
