Obituary for William Elmer Stricklen
W. E. (Elmer) Stricklen, former resident of Altus, Oklahoma, and son of the late Mr. and Mrs. E.F. Stricklen, died in Dallas, TX on January 4th, 1990 at the age of 59 yrs, 8 months and two days. He was born on May 3rd, 1930. He was united in marriage with Joyce Jones on May 18, 1952.
Elmer was a starting Bulldog on the Varsity Basketball in 1947 and 1948. He was also a veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include: his wife, Joyce, of the home; two daughters, Gail Stricklen and Debbie Stricklen, both of Dallas, TX; a son and daughter-in-law, Rev. and Mrs. Billy Stricklen of Denver, CO; a brother, John Stricklen of AR; two sisters, Eunice Marple of Lawton, OK and Estine Bevers of Texas; Father and Mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Jones of Altus, Oklahoma; one granddaughter, Samara of Denver, CO.
Services will be held at the Tims Chapel of Memories at 2 P.M. Sunday with Bill Davis officiating.
Interment will be in the Altus City Cemetery in the Family Plot, under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.
