William Arthur "Bill" Weaver, 82, passed away on October 28, 2024, in Altus, Oklahoma. Born on October 16, 1942, Bill was known for his friendly demeanor, great sense of humor, and deep love for his family.
Bill proudly served in the Air Force, including a tour in Vietnam, dedicating 22 years to military service before transitioning to a civil service role. Throughout his life, Bill remained committed to the values of duty and service.
He attended high school in Grand Prairie, TX before joining the Air Force in 1959. He served as a crew chief on many different air frames throughout his career. Bill's professional life was marked by dedication and hard work, the details of which reflect his commitment to his career.
Bill married Irma in 1992 and they spent many years enjoying country dancing. Irma is an amazing cook and Bill was always a grateful and well-fed man. Bill was a great son, routinely driving long hours to help his parents in Texas with home and yard maintenance. He also took pride in his own yard, known for having the best-manicured lawn on his street. An avid tennis player, Bill enjoyed the competition and camaraderie on the court. He created, organized, and competed in a local tennis group for over 20 years, often with his son as his doubles partner. His hobbies included bowling, riding motorcycles, and listening to old country music. A fervent Dallas Cowboys fan, he never missed a game, embodying the true spirit of a lifelong supporter. Bill's greatest legacy will be as a father and grandfather. He showed immense support for his kids and grandkids, making it to every game he could, in and out of town, and practicing with them in between. He took great pride in their successes at home and at work.
He is survived by his wife, Irma Weaver; sister, Brenda Morgan; children, Katrina Hubbs (Michael), Letitia Leach, Kristy Wuthnow, and Scott Weaver (Beth Rogers); stepdaughters Sarah Hamerla (John) and Emily Lund; grandchildren, William "Cody" Leach, Michael "MJ" Hubbs, Megan Hubbs (Sam Zint), Keaton Hubbs (Madison), Cameron Holt, Mason Weaver, Kaileigh Weaver (Carson McClure), Logan Dennison (Tyler), Landon Ybarra (Nicole), L'Donn Ybarra, Jennie Cobb, Kenneth, Kevin and Jennifer Hamilton; and great-grandchildren, Jensen Zint, Rylan Dennison, Nilsu and Ayaz.
