Wenonah L. Harris was born to Joe and Florence McDonald on August 17, 1925, in Jester, Oklahoma. She passed away on September 14, 2023, in Stillwater, Oklahoma at the age of 98. In 1944, she married Calvin Harris in Mangum, Oklahoma. They had two daughters, Sheila Forbes, and Vicki Carpenter. Calvin and Wenonah lived in Reed, Oklahoma, Amarillo, Texas, Tulsa, Oklahoma, and finally retried to Delaware, Oklahoma. Wenonah was active in the Methodist Church and helped Calvin with farm work after they retired. She loved to garden, both flower and vegetable gardens. She was an excellent cook and loved to share homemade goodies with friends and neighbors. Although she liked dogs, Wenonah was a cat person-always having two to ten cats following her around the farm. After Calvins death in 2017 she moved to Stillwater to be closer to her daughter, Sheila.
Wenonah is preceded in death by her parents; Husband, Calvin Harris; and Daughter, Vicki Carpenter.
Left to honor her memory is her Daughter Sheila Forbes and husband Dan; Two grandchildren, Amanda (Warren) Stewart, and Brad Carpenter; Three great grandchildren, Aurora, Dyre, and Astrid Stewart.
