CRALLEY

Wendy Cralley, 51, of Southaven, Mississippi, and formerly of Altus, Oklahoma, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 16, 2014.

Wendy graced the world with her presence on April 20, 1963 in Wales to Margaret and Robert Strachan. At a very young age, Wendy Cralley began to discover the love and passion she had for helping others. As a teen she joyfully helped to care for her ill grandmother and discovered that she had a true calling for nursing. At age 16, Wendy attended pre-nursing college for 2 years in Sheffield, England her homeland. She graduated from Sheffield School of Nursing in July of 1984.

Wendy went on to work in Saudi Arabia on a medical-surgical unit for 8 years. During that time, she met the love of her life, Richard Cralley. In 1995, the couple married and relocated to Altus, Oklahoma. In 1998, they welcomed their only child, Robert. Wendy is best known for the 17 years she worked at Altus Surgical and Urology Associates.

While in Altus, she was a long standing member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Her faith was very important to her and it showed in her everyday life. Wendy loved all sports. Especially her beloved English Football (Soccer), but nothing compared to the love she had for her son, Robert. Many of her friends met her on a sideline as she cheered him on at a soccer game or a taekwondo tournament. On Friday nights you could hear her cheering for That Altus Band and the Bulldogs. She also loved her OU Sooners and Florida Gators. She had a green thumb. Her love of gardening was passed on from her father. Wendy loved to shop and had a keen eye for a bargain. Many have benefited from her love of shopping. Just ask any of her friends. She was such a giving person and never expected anything in return.

In December of 2012, Wendy moved to Southaven where she continued her nursing career. It did not take a long time for her outstanding capabilities and kind-caring qualities to shine through. She received numerous awards for her caring and compassionate nature.

Wendy was preceded in death by her father, Robert, her sister, Claire, and grandparents. She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Richard, and son, Robert, her mother, Margaret, and siblings, Shawn, Stewart, Billy, Jessie, and Jayne as well as many nieces and nephews and countless friends.

Wendy was a bright light that was extinguished far too soon. Her humble spirit, unconditional love, and generosity are characteristics which mirror the image of Christ; we need more Wendys in this world.
