Obituary for Virgie Ludie Hamilton
Virgie Ludie Hamilton, age 88, former resident of Erick, Oklahoma, died at her home in Altus Saturday morning.
A Prayer Service is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel in Altus, Oklahoma, officiated by Father Tim Luschen and Rev. Richard Kerr. Mrs. Hamilton will lie in state at the First Baptist Church in Erick, Oklahoma from Noon Monday with the services scheduled for 2:00 p.m. officiated by Elder T. J. Pittman. Burial will follow at the Erick Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
Hamilton was born November 18th, 1905 at Magazine, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Robert and Martha Catlett. She married Harvey Lee Hamilton December 12, 1921 at Blue Mountain, AR. She lived in Erick for many years prior to moving to Altus the last few years. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include: three children, Damon Lee Hamilton, Naomi Ellen Lourance and Barbara Nell Privett; three sisters, Elsie McCoy, Ruby Owen and Geneva Merrifield; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; son-in-law, Herbert Finch; Sister-in-law, Bobbie Catlett.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Harvey Lee Hamilton; a daughter, Joyce Hamilton Finch; a child, Baby Lyndol.
