Obituary for Violet Lahoma Sevey
Violet 'Preach" Sevey, age 86 passed away Sunday, August 5, 2001 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. She was born December 29, 1914 in Vian, Oklahoma to M.V. Permenter and Avis Naomi (Prince) Permenter.
On May 4, 1940 in Altus, Oklahoma Violet and Harry Noble Sevey were united in marriage. He preceded her in death. They had lived in the Blair community since 1967 moving there from Martha, Oklahoma. Violet was a homemaker for many years, before moving to English Village Manor. she was a longtime member of Martha Methodist Church.
She is survived by three nieces, Wanda Williamson of Altus, Oklahoma, Gwen Bonds and husband Gene of Duncan, Oklahoma, Dorothea Combs of Sparks, Nevada; cousin, Betty Herndon and husband O.J. of Sayer, Oklahoma, a host of great nieces, nephews and other relatives. She is also survived by a special friend, Jackie Lewis of Blair, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters and one brother.
Graveside services are scheduled for Wednesday, August 8, 2001 at 10:00am in the Blair Cemetery with Sonny Tims officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
