Obituary for Vinson Soll Smith
Vinson Soll Smith was born October 7th, 1916 at Red Elm, South Dakota. He died December 6, 1992 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. He married Marie McKibbin on May 4, 1952 at the Chapel On The Hill in Fort Lawton, Washington. He served in the U.S. Army, where he attained the Rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He served during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He retired from the Army after 20 years of service. He moved back to Altus from Seattle, WA in 1989. He was a member of the VFW and was a member of the Poggie Club in Seattle, WA. He was an avid outdoorsman.

Services are scheduled for 11 A.M. Wednesday in the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in the Rock Cemetery with full military honors. Lowell Tims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include: his wife, Marie Smith of the home in Altus; a sister, Toddy Williams of Duquoin, IL.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; one sister, Alycene Jensen.
