Obituary for Vickie Delois Hall

Vickie Delois Hall was born on December 20, 1948, in Hobbs, New Mexico, to Oma Ellington Sorrell and Dorris Sorrell. She was later adopted by her stepfather, Parker Brawley, whose steadfast devotion profoundly shaped her life. Following the tragic passing of her mother in 1963, Parker raised Vickie alone. She often spoke of him as a giant among men, and his love remained one of the greatest blessings of her life. On November 18, 1967, Vickie married the love of her life, Danny Ray Hall. Danny was her unwavering rock, and she cherished him with every fiber of her being. Together, they built a fulfilling life in Duke, Oklahoma, farming wheat and cotton while spending many rewarding years on the custom harvest trail-following the wheat harvest as far north as Saskatchewan. Raising cattle was also a lifelong shared venture and passion that brought them immense joy. In 1993, Vickie opened an antique store and gift shop on the square in Altus, where she formed lasting friendships and took great pride in her success. In 2000, she embarked on a new chapter when she and Danny launched Turkey Creek Truck Lines with their son, Dantz, soon followed by KNA Custom Services. There, Vickie diligently managed the bookkeeping and technical operations. Whether operating a combine, serving customers in her shop, or balancing the books, Vickie approached every task with unwavering purpose and pride. Work was a source of strength and deep fulfillment, and she was a fully committed partner in every venture she shared with Danny. Vickie's greatest joys arrived with the births of her children: Monica in 1970 and Dantz in 1975. She embraced motherhood with the same boundless energy, determination, and devotion that defined her entire life. She also held a profound love for animals- whether her dogs and cats, or the baby calves she tenderly cared for. After Danny's passing in August 2023, Vickie pressed forward with the same resilience that had always defined her, even as she bravely battled Alzheimer's disease. On December 16th, 2025, she was at last set free and reunited with her beloved Danny, her cherished father Parker, and her dearly missed mother Oma. She was preceded in death also by her aunt, Cleo Holloman, who played a vital role in her life after her mother's passing; her brother, Billy Sorrell; her sister-in-law, Sharron Hall Schnorrenberg; and her stepmother, Cleo Brawley Bearden, whom Parker married in his later years. Vickie is survived by her daughter, Monica Hall Claussen, and husband Chris Claussen, along with their children, Noah, Cole, and Skye Hall Claussen. She was the proud great-grandmother of Kamry Saige Claussen, daughter of Cole. Her son, Dantz Reagan Hall, and his wife, Summer Berry Hall, continue her legacy, along with their children, Aspen Hall Stephens (married to Trenton Stephens) and Celie Hall, as well as Aspen and Trenton's children, Truitt Ray and Willow Faye-her cherished great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Risa Hall Darby (and husband Ken) and Dana Hall Darby (and husband Richard); brother-in-law Gary Hall; and special sister-in-law Susan Hall, who shared an unbreakable bond with Vickie during the final challenges they often faced hand-in-hand. Additionally, she leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and treasured friends who loved her dearly and will love her always. Those who knew Vickie will remember her as fiercely loyal, tirelessly hardworking, and always ready to extend a helping hand-even in her final months. Her heart overflowed with compassion for those in pain, and she was quick to advocate for those who suffered. Beautiful, vibrant, and feisty to the end, Vickie's spirit remained unshaken throughout her life. She leaves behind a legacy of love, grit, and devotion that will be cherished forever. Rest easy, Vickie. The burdens are gone, the work is done, and you are home.
