Obituary for Vallie Mae McClain
Vallie Mae McClain, age 61, of Altus, Oklahoma was born September 30th, 1935, in Altus, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late Harmon David and Mary Francis (Boren) Williams. She was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. Mrs. McClain passed away Thursday, October 3rd, 1996, October 3rd, 1996, in the University Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, after a lengthy illness.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 5, 1996, in the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Hunter and Rev. Wayne Stark officiating. Burial will be in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.

On June 12, 1967, she and Charlie Lee McClain were united in marriage at Altus, Oklahoma. Mr. McClain preceded her in death, July 26, 1988. She worked for many years at Johnnie's Steak House and Mutt's. She was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Survivors include: five children, Harmon Dale Williams of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Mary Bess Onken and husband Donald of Denver, CO, Alvin Lee Howard and wife Gwen of Yukon, Oklahoma, Donnie Gene Howard and Ronnie Dene Howard of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two brother's, Wayne Boren of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Martin Williams of Arizona; three sisters, Joyce Herrin and Francis Ferguson, both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Dorothy Hicks of Clovis, NM; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and a close friend and companion, James Clark of Altus, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; two brothers, LeRoy Lawson and John Williams.
