Obituary for Vallie B. Fowler
Vallie B. Fowler age 88, long-time Martha resident passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2003 at Norman Regional Hospital in Norman, Oklahoma. She was born July 20, 1914 in Altus, Oklahoma to O.O. Sneed and Jannie (Daniel) Sneed.
She married Donald Fowler, November 16, 1934 in Altus, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death, July 13, 1982.
Vallie was a life long resident of Jackson County. She graduated from Humphreys High School and ten attended Altus Junior College. She participated in doubles tennis while attending school. She cooked at the Martha School was manager of the Snack Bar at the Bowling Alley, was owner of the Park Lane Drug Store. She was a long-time member of the 1st United Methodist Church where she participated in the UMW, the Methodist Quilters, Kountry Kitchen, and her Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother.
Survivors include three children; Donna Jones and Don of Norman, Oklahoma, Ronald Fowler and Audra of Martha, Oklahoma, Richard Fowler and Joni of Roff, Oklahoma, one sister Margie Pickett of Altus, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren; Randy Jones of Arlington, Texas, Regina Love of Norman, Oklahoma, Tommy Jones of Norman, Oklahoma, Teresa Roberts pf Henrietta, Texas, Sheryl Nava of Vernon, Texas, Kathy Roberts of Blair, Oklahoma, Casey Fowler of Roff, Oklahoma and Jamie Fowler of Roff, Oklahoma; sixteen great-grandchilddren, 6 great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and friends.
Services for Vallie B. Fowler are scheduled for 2 pm Friday, January 17, 2003, at the 1st United Methodist Church with Rev, Doug Burr officiating. Interment will follow at the Martha Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
