Valinda Kathleen Davis, age 43, of Pampa, Texas passed away Tuesday morning, May 31, 2011, in Pampa.
Valinda was born on April 17, 1968, to William C. Hendricks and Linda Davis. Living most of her life in Mangum, she graduated from Mangum High School in 1986, and continued her education at Western Oklahoma State College where she earned her associate"s degree. She later spent one year each at the University of Central Oklahoma and Southwestern Oklahoma State University. A longtime employee of United Supermarket, Valinda also worked at Owl Photo while attending college. Throughout her high school career, Valinda played the trombone and was very musically inclined. During her spare time she enjoyed reading and playing her trombone.
Survivors include her mother, Linda Ellison and stepfather Harold of Pampa, Texas; her father, William C. Hendricks and wife Joyce of Mangum; two sisters, Merial Pratt of Oklahoma City and Elizabeth Ann Hendricks of Mangum; six brothers, Christopher Davis of Duncan, Harold Ellison, Jr. of Sacramento, California, David Ellison of Pampa, Texas, James Ellison of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Bryson Ellison of Hawaii and Ronald Keith Hendricks of Altus along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Valinda Davis will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 4, 2011, at the Colorado Street Church of Christ with James Reed officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
