PERRYMAN
Funeral services for Tom Perryman, 94, will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, February 9, 2015, at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Rock Cemetery, north of Duke, under the direction of the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus.
Mr. Perryman passed away Friday, February 6, 2015.
Thomas Earl Perryman was born August 16, 1920, Northeast of Duke near the home site of his pioneer grandparents, Alonzo Thomas and Zenobia (Wilson) Perryman. His parents were Thomas Edwin Perryman and Gertrude (Wheeler) Perryman. He attended school in Duke. Tom joined the U.S. Air Force and served his country during World War II. After his service, he completed his education at Oklahoma A&M (OSU). He was a Vocational Agriculture Instructor for a few years and then began working with the US Department of Agriculture in Soil Conservation. He retired from the USDA as an Area Conservationist in Duncan.
Tom married Geraldine Farrow on February 10, 1946. They made their homes in Duke, Stillwater, Eakly, Altus, Clinton, Hammon, Cheyenne, Woodward, Duncan, Enid, and Norman. Tom was a wonderful husband, father, and Papa. He was a faithful Christian and was always active in the Baptist Church where they lived.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Gertie Perryman; son, Donald Earl Perryman; brother, Ted Perryman; and sister, Wilma Warren.
Tom leaves behind his wife, Gerry Perryman; daughter, Doris Perryman of Norman; three grandsons, Barrett Pollard and wife Jeni of Norman, Austin Thomas Pollard and wife Laura of Greenwood, SC, and Preston Pollard and wife Morgan of Oklahoma City; two great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Connor Thomas Pollard of Greenwood, SC; brother Fred Perryman and wife Bonnie of Duke; sister-in-law Margie Perryman of Edmond; several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
