Arden "Bobo" Allen, age 94 of Reed, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday Afternoon, May 11, 2014 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus, Oklahoma.

Arden was born in Poteau, Oklahoma on October 28, 1919 to Andrew Jackson and Gertrude Hester (Burton) Allen. Arden served his country in the United States Army during World War II and received the Purple Heart and Bronze Stars as well as numerous other awards and decorations and served in multiple Battle Campaigns including Central Europe, Tunisia, Sicily, Naples, Foggia, and areas of Southern France as a Heavy Truck Operator and he received an honorable discharge. On January 12, 1948 he married Lola Lee White in Wellington, Texas and they were united in marriage for over 55 years before her death in 2003. He worked as a road grader for Greer County for many years until he retired. Arden enjoyed sitting on the porch chewing his tobacco reading the Daily Oklahoman and telling war stories, but most of all he loved his family and spending time with all his grandkids and great grandkids.

Preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lola Lee Allen on August 13, 2003; one son, Billy Preston Allen; one sister, Clara Boyd; and one grandson, Kevin Dale Pippin; Arden is survived by one son, Van Allen of Erick; two daughters, Jan Hollandsworth and husband Ted of Frederick; Sue Reynolds and husband Larry of Mangum; one daughter-in-law, Terri Allen of Mangum; three brothers, Winfred Allen and wife June of Reed; A.J. "Jr." Allen of Mangum; Merle Allen and wife Carolyn of Ft. Worth; one sister, Euda Prater of Mangum; five granddaughters, Keva Pippin of Lawton; Kerri Dykens and husband Mike of Altus; Misti Dunlap and husband Bo of Hollis; Angie Hubanks and husband Patrick of Hollis; Beth Martinez of Mangum; nineteen great grandchildren, LaTisha, Aaron, Tiamara; Kaitlyn, Laramie; Kaleb; Karissa; Keegan, Mikal, Jaylee, Leah, Summer, Kevin, Jr., Tawnya, Chloe, Tessa, Conner, Nacole, Tynlee; one great great granddaughter, Amari; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Reed Cemetery in Reed, Oklahoma with Military Honors under the direction of Greer Funeral Home-Mangum.
