Obituary for Thomas Albert "Tom" Bennett
Thomas Albert "Tom" Bennett, age 81, passed away Sunday, May 5th, 1996 in the Jackson County Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
Tom was born in Yarnaby, Oklahoma, the son of the late Thomas Albert and Frankie Susanner (Waldrep) Bennett. He was a longtime resident of Jackson County.
On July 6, 1941, Tom and Edna Pearl Thomas were united in marriage at Altus. Tom was retired manager of Southwest Sand and Gravel and was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Mr. Bennett was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Dee Bennett and J.C. Bennett.
He is survived by Edna, his wife of 53 years; one daughter, Sue Overstreet of Rocky Mount, NC; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry J. and Brenda Bennett of Cushion, OK; two brothers, Robert Bennett of Altus and Mike Bennett of Springdale, AR; two sisters, Lillie Petzold and Faye Jones, both of Altus; and by one grandson, Thomas Overstreet of Greenville, NC.
