Obituary for Theresa Lee Hoehne
Theresa Hoehne, age 88 of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus.
Theresa was born in Altus, Oklahoma on April 2, 1931 to her parents Henry and Veda Lee (Waller) Berry. She was a proud graduate of the class of 1949 from Altus High School where she was a standout basketball player and voted the prettiest girl at Altus High. On July 24, 1968 Theresa married Walter Hoehne in Altus and they have enjoyed over 51 years of marriage together. She worked for the Altus Public Schools for many years until she retired in the mid 90's. Theresa was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Altus where she enjoyed being a Sunday School Teacher. Theresa and Walter had a side hobby where they put on comedy country music shows at retirement homes and RV parks. Before Theresa and Walter retired from their music travels, they had put together at least 90 shows throughout Oklahoma and Texas. Theresa enjoyed spending time with her lady's birthday group for many years. She also enjoyed round dancing where her and Walter won several awards in Oklahoma, Texas, and Colorado. She loved listening to Walter play his guitar and sing songs, traveling in their RV, and taking care of Walter. Theresa was the best wife anyone could have ever had the chance to have and she treasured spending time with Walter, her family and friends, and she will be missed very much.
Preceded in death by her parents; her son Kyle Ray; her sister, Geneva Webb; and her stepson, Ricky Hoehne; Theresa is survived by her husband Walter Hoehne of their home; two sons, Don Michael Ray of Clinton; Gene Paul Ray of Texas; stepson, Randy Hoehne of Guthrie; her step daughter, Catherine Anderson and her husband William of Virginia; grandchildren, Carrie; Cody and Zack; Damien and Talece; several great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews, numerous other family members, and many friends.
The family of Theresa Hoehne will greet friends at visitation from 6:30 until 7:30 on Tuesday evening, October 8, 2019 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Chapel in Altus with Dr. Jeff Moore and Pastor Doug Altom Officiating.
Interment will follow services at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus, Oklahoma.
