Obituary for Terri Jean Owens
Terri Jean Owens, age 57 of Altus, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, February 10, 2005 in Purcell, Oklahoma. She was born August 21, 1947 in Hollis Oklahoma to Eugene and Doylene (Philpot) Wilson.
On December 23, 1985 in Wellington, Texas Terri and Leon Owens were united in marriage. They had lived in the Altus community since 1998. Terri worked at various hospitals and nursing homes caring for the sick and aging as a devoted Licensed Vocational Nurse.
Terri was a member pf the First Baptist Church in Altus where she thoroughly enjoyed working each Wednesday evening assisting in the preparation and serving of the church fellowship dinner. She was a very devoted mother and grandmother, "She loved her grandchildren". Terri had many hobbies she enjoyed but 'Fishing" was at the top of her list.
She is survived by her husband Leon Owens of the home in Altus, Oklahoma; four children Craig Rippetoe and wife Karla of Hollis, Oklahoma, Shaun Owens and wife Anne of Mangum, Oklahoma, Cindy Whitten and husband Mark of Washington, Cristi Meyers and husband Emery of Mangum, Oklahoma. Terri is also survived by one sister Phyllis Webb of Dobson, Texas and one brother Randy Wilson of Altus, Oklahoma, and eleven grandchildren, Jordan, Shyan, Kerrie, Shaunna, Destinie, Zoey, Dakota, Skyler, Stetson, Cade and Bailee. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter and an infant granddaughter Stormi Whitten.
Funeral services for Terri Owens is scheduled for Monday, February 14, 2005 at 10:00 am at the First Baptist Church, Altus with Dr. Jeff Moore officiating. Interment will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
