Sylvia Sue Morgan, 67, of Altus, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2006, in Rugby, North Dakota, as the result of a motor vehicle accident.
Sylvia was born on November 22, 1938, to John and Lola Esteline (Banks) Lovelady in Hess, Oklahoma. She married Tom Morgan on May 1,st Baptist Church in Altus.
Moving to Altus from Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis, New Mexico, in 1971, Sylvia was a 30 year member of American Business Women's Association, a five year member of Toast mistress, current p0resident of the Hess Cemetery Association, previous PTA President at Eugene Field Elementary, currently active as a RA Class Leader of 5th grade boys, previously a Sunday school teacher at the Hess Baptist Church for 10 years, and also served as a 4-H speech contest judge for many years.
Sylvia's parents were pioneer settlers in the Hess area and her great grandfather, William Ezra Banks, was the Jackson County delegate to the Constitutional Convention in Guthrie when old Greer County Texas became part of Oklahoma. A Western Oklahoma State College Business graduate in 1979, Sylvia loved to travel world wide and was an accomplished student pilot who soloed in 1984.
