Obituary for Syble Jean Norman
Syble J. Norman, age 84 of Dodson, Texas went home to her Lord and Savior March 12, 2019 in Weatherford, Oklahoma.
She was born in Childress, Texas to Ernest Jesse Hammons and Bertie (Eason) Hammons.
She was a product of the Great Depression, life was hard but she learned from an early age to rely on prayer.
Syble met the love of the her Life A.V. Norman during a double date with her sister. They were joined in marriage in Fort Port Louisiana of this union they had five children. A.V. loved his wife with a passion he saw that her every need was taken care of. Syble worked incredible hard to make sure her children were taught with good christian values and to make sure they had a strong relationship with Christ. On May 9, 1962 A.V. passed away suddenly from a heart attack. During this time Syble turned her faith to the Lord. Later in her live she worked as a nurse at the nursing home in Childress, Texas and in Hollis, Oklahoma. Her family describes her as a prayer warrior turning to her savior for every need and concern, while rejoicing in every blessing.
Syble was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Jesse Hammons, mother Bertie (Eason) Hammons Ricks; sister, Naomi Lee Norman and husband A.V. Norman; and grandson, Jason Norman.
Left to mourn her are her two sons; Larry Gene Norman, Gary Vance Norman; three daughters; Glenda Sharon Norman, Ava Sheryl Stumpe, Jacueline DeLee Posey, one brother; Glen Edward Hammons; eleven grandchildren, Corey and Nereyda Norman, Melody Hannah, Nataniel Norman, Robert and Mary Pearl Woods, Jennifer and Scotty Smith, Jason and Christi Norman, Angel and Todd Vic, Rebecca and Steve Tilley, Keilah Posey, Eva Coronado and Khyrstee Norman Shieloh; and two Great-Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday March 15, 2019 at Harmon County Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow where she will be buried next to her beloved husband A.V. Norman.
Services are under the direction of Harmon County Funeral Home, Hollis, Oklahoma.
