Steve Shaw, age 44, of Lawton, passed away early Tuesday morning, March 22, 2016, at Comanche County Memorial Hospital, in Lawton.
Steve was born in Altus, Oklahoma on November 19, 1971, to Willie J. Shaw, Jr. and Pearline Harris. After attending school, Steve worked as a chef for several years at different Altus restaurants. On April 18, 1997, he married Inez Kaleah Steel. Moving to Lawton in 2012, Steve worked on different construction projects until his death. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing dominoes, basketball and going fishing, but most of all he enjoyed being with his family.
Preceded in death by his mother and brother Charles Albert Shaw, he is survived by his wife, Inez Shaw, of Clinton; his father, Willie J. Shaw, Jr. of Hobart; eight children, Tahj McKinley of Lexington, Oklahoma, Ta"hiysun Carruthers of Cushing, Sanjaysia Carruthers of Oklahoma City, Deleany Shaw of Oklahoma City, Jabari Steel of Lubbock, Texas, Dominion Shaw of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Jasper Shaw of Altus and Sharee Vandehey and husband Michael of Lawton; two brothers, Willie J. Shaw, III, and wife Monica of Hobart and Freddie Shaw and wife Nicole of Lawton; a special friend, Kara Poling of Lawton, along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Steve Shaw will be on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Willie J. Shaw, III, officiating. Cremation services will follow the funeral under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory.
