Obituary for Steve Morren
Steve Morren, 60-year-old Altus, Oklahoma resident, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus.
Steve was born in El Paso, Texas on December 15, 1960 to his parents Jack H. Morren, Jr. and Bonnie (Freeland) Morren. The family was stationed at Altus Air Force Base where Steve earned his Associate's degree from Western Oklahoma State College in Altus. He went on to earn an Associate's degree from Cameron University in Lawton and his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Economics at Oklahoma State University. After graduating from OSU he moved to Munday, Texas and began his own business as an Agricultural Consultant and he managed the Weinert Gin. Steve was a member of the Family Worship Center. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, working with bees, fishing, traveling, family BBQ's, competing in Chili Cookoffs, and Steve especially enjoyed being with his cat, Lilly Mae.
Steve is preceded in death by his father, Jack H. Morren, Jr. and his sister-in-law, Kimberly Morren. Survivors include Steve's mother, Bonnie L. Morren of Altus; his brothers Mike Morren and wife Janet of Blair; and Jim Morren and wife Shelly of Blair; his sister, Jaclyn and fiance' Bryan Walling of Hobart; nieces, Brooke McFerrin, Tana Zapata, Blaine Morren, Alexis Heath, Austin Heath, and Asha Belle Heath; great nieces, Locklynn Bristol, Acelee McFerrin, and Blakelyn Zapata; aunt and uncle, Bobbie and Tom Ethridge; uncle, Jack Freeland and wife Kris of Idaho; and aunt Marianne Virtue of Califronia; as well as a host of many friends.
Celebration of Life service are pending at a later date.
