Obituary for Shirley Yvonne Overfield
Shirley Yvonne Overfield, 66, resident of Altus Oklahoma, passed away on February 11, 2021 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Shirley was born May 12, 1954 in Altus Oklahoma to the late John Preston and Virginia Zieman Overfield. Shirley was raised and educated in Altus Oklahoma where she graduated high school in 1972. Shirley had a great love and passion for children and animals. Being around children always brought joy to her life which led her to working with children and adults with developmental disabilities. Her loving and caring spirit always produced a desire to take care of family and friends the best she knew how. Being a long-time member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Altus, Shirley learned that life truly comes from being committed and placing your trust in Jesus. So at a very young age Shirley gave her life to our Lord and Savior, and enjoyed spending precious time with Him.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents John and Virgina Overfield. Left to honor Shirley’s memory are her brother Brian and wife Melody Overfield; Nephew, Brian Preston and wife Silke Overfield; Great Nieces, Zoe Brynn and Eva Leigh; Great Nephew, Preston Cale, and numerous friends whom she loved dearly.
Public viewing will be from 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 18, 2021 and 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Friday, February 19, 2021. A private family graveside will be held at City of Altus Cemetery, Altus Oklahoma.
Services have been entrusted to Lowell - Tims Funeral Home and Crematory.
