Shirley Lynn Finley, a resident of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away on November 6th, 2023 at the age of fifty- six at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Shirley was born on August 17th, 1967 to Leslie and Erlinda (Nucup) Moore in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. She was educated in Mountain Home, Idaho, and graduated high school there in 1985. Soon after high school, Shirley went on to join the United States Army. Shirley was a corporal in the Airborne Assault team, often jumping out of planes and always being on guard duty at night. She was a member of the 101st Airborne Division as well as served in operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. She proudly served her country until retiring on October 10, 1991.
After leaving the army, Shirley went on to attend college at Boise State University where she graduated with a bachelor's degree. During college, she worked as a security guard for Micron. Right after graduating college Shirley opened her own paralegal business in Boise, Idaho. During this time, she also worked as a mediator for courts. She took great pride in settling hard cases. Shirley had an incredible passion for three-gun shooting. She traveled all over and competed in numerous competitions. She relished in the competitiveness of the sport but also the camaraderie found between the participants. Playing Battlefield was also a favorite pastime. It was while playing this game Shirley met the love of her life, Christopher Finley. They would often stay up late playing together and talking all night long. They were friends for fifteen years before uniting in marriage on October 25, 2022, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together they started their blended family, she opened her heart and home to his two children and loved them as if they were her own. They made their home in Altus, Oklahoma where they created many everlasting memories. Shirley loved to spend her time outdoors, especially with her two dogs Willow and Angel. The three of them would play in the yard and spend hours just sitting outside. Shirley was a kind soul who knew how to put a smile on anyone's face. She will be dearly missed.
Left to honor Shirley's memory include her spouse, Christopher Finley; sons, Nathan Bunker and Neal Bunker; stepchildren, Josh Finley and Kaitlyn Finley; mother, Erlinda Nucup Moore, father, Leslie Moore; her beloved dogs, Willow and Angel; as well as other family members and comrades in arms.
