Obituary for Sharon G. Hart
Sharon Gale Hart, whose life was a testament to adventure, hard work, and a strong love for family and friends, passed away on February 19th, 2025, at the age of 81 in Oklahoma City, OK. She was the first child born to Curtis and Dessie Mae (McClure) Hart in Erick, OK, on June 9th, 1943. Sharon was a precocious child, driving tractors for her dad at an early age, as she was always quite the tomboy. She graduated from Reed High School in 1961. Soon after, she joined the Army, where she attended basic training in Mississippi and was then stationed in California. In August of 1963, she was honorably discharged from Fort Hood, TX.

After leaving the Army, she relocated to Dallas, TX, in the 1970s. While living in Dallas, she worked as the purchasing director for Booth, Inc., for over three decades. She also helped establish the very first women's motorcycle club in Dallas, called "The Flying W." She held many board positions within the club over the years, contributing to the community by donating her time to numerous shows and fundraisers. Sharon made many friends during her time in Dallas.

Shortly after retiring in 2000, she returned to Reed, OK, to live with and care for her parents. During this time, she reconnected with a few local friends, worked at the grain elevator in Reed, eagerly attended local garage sales, and lovingly tended her mini hobby farm, which included goats, llamas, donkeys, and chickens.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Roger Hart; her sister-in-law, Carolyn Hart; her nephews, Ty and Clay Hart; and her sister, Leah Hart Hall.

She is survived by her sister, Brenda Ellis and husband Carl of Vinson, OK; her niece, Brandi Orosco and husband Adam of Mangum, OK; her nephew, Galen Ellis and wife Heather of Vernon, TX; five great-nephews: Kyle, Derrick, and Clay Ellis, along with Owen and Jay Orosco; and a longtime, irreplaceable friend, Patsy Webb of Seguin, TX. Sharon will be dearly missed by those who truly knew her wild nature, her quirkiness, and her zest for life.

Graveside services are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at Erick Cemetery with Greer Funeral Home, Mangum, Oklahoma.
