Scotty Dale Davis passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 64.
Scott was born September 20, 1958 in Mangum, Oklahoma to Albert Cary Davis Jr and Billie Francis Berry Davis. He was raised in the country outside of Willow, Oklahoma and graduated from Granite High School in 1976. Following high school Scott attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma. On March 2, 1985, Scott married Kimberly Ann Tharp in Mangum, Oklahoma. They made their home at Lake Creek before moving 2 miles outside of Willow. In 1988, Scott and Kim were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Megan.
Scott worked in the oilfield shortly after High school and then farmed for a few years. He decided to work for the Oklahoma State Reformatory and graduated from the Correctional Officer Academy in 1988. He worked for the Department of Corrections for 23 years and retired in 2011. He went back to work for the oilfield for 9 years delivering nitrogen and crude oil. He then finally retired for good and spent his days on his farm.
He loved farming and ranching, taking care of his cattle, traveling to the Rockies, visiting Ouray, Colorado and spending time with his grandsons Collin and Brennan.
Scott was a believer in Jesus Christ and attended Living Waters United Pentecostal Church with Kim.
Scott was always a kind and liked person, who loved teaching his grandsons about working cattle or different things on the farm. He was also a very good father and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his Father, A.C. Davis; Mother, Billie Davis; Brother, Charles Pollard; niece, Devyn Pollard; infant daughter, Holly Ann Davis; and wife, Kimberly Ann Davis.
Left to honor and cherish his memory are daughter, Megan Slaton and husband Andy; Sister, Pam King and husband Paul; grandsons, Collin and Brennan Slaton; niece, Destry Holzschuh and husband Sam; niece, Dayli Pollard; nephew Dylan Pollard; nephew Derek McMurty and wife Valerie; several great nieces and nephews and cousins
