Ruth B. Westfall, age 73, of Altus, passed away late Monday night, January 26, 2015, at her residence, in Altus.
Ruth was born in San Diego, California on November 20, 1941, to Doyle and Ambra (Nelson) Hayworth. A graduate of La Mesa High School, Ruth married Jimmy P. Westfall, the love of her life, on June 26, 1959, and they spent the next forty-six wonderful years together. They started life"s journey in Chula Vista, CA. Ruth began work as a keypunch operator and in 1972, they moved to the Antelope Valley where Ruth and Jim worked mostly for Rockwell International, Ruth as an Electrical Engineer on Space Shuttles and B1 Bombers, before both retired in 1996. They traveled and lived all over the US. In 2003, they moved to Altus where they lived until their death. Ruth enjoyed RVing with Jim, working in her garden, playing Bingo, playing cards with family and friends and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, George R. Westfall, one brother, William (Dub) Hayworth; one grandson, Jeremy M. Westfall and one granddaughter, Jennifer Westfall, she is survived by five children, Bonnie E. Fortuna and husband David of Altus, Jimmy D. Westfall of Altus, Shannarae Westfall and Andy Cole of Niceville, Florida, Joann K. Mileham and husband Mark of Lancaster, California and Mary Estep and husband Robert of Vernonia, Oregon; nine grandchildren, David E. Fortuna, Benjamin R. Westfall, Ambra M. Evans, Robert D. Tomera, Cynthia L. Guiles, Catherine Ruth Lambert, Rebecca J. Mileham, James R. Emerson and Brittany N. Contreras; twelve great grandchildren; one brother, John Hayworth and wife Susan of California; one sister, Melba Claudy and husband Bryan of Florida along with one sister-in-law, Shirley Hayworth of California along with many other relatives and friends.
Memorial services for Ruth Westfall will be at 10 a.m., Friday, January 30, 2015, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Doug Altom officiating.
