Ruth Rogers Atkins was born Mary 16, 1894 at Kentucky. She died February 14, 1993 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. she married Sam Atkins and he preceded her in death in 1935. She was a long time resident of Jackson County having resided here over 93 years. She was a homemaker, and member of the First Baptist Church.
Services are scheduled for 2 pm Tuesday at the Lowell-Tims Chapel with Rev. Keith Wighinton officiating. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims funeral Home.
Survivors include children; Johnnie Salmon of Altus, grandchildren, Mike Salmon of Altus; Jim Atkins of Towanda, Kansas; Darleen Bascombe of Wichita, Kansas; and Jackie Sue Shetter, of Weatherfrod, Oklahoma; great-grandcchildren, Tom and Bob Burden, Dennis Hansford, Michael and Melissa Salmon, Michelle Atkins, Mike and Steve Ward; great-great-grandchildren, Brandi, Kindsay, T.D. and Toni Burden, Kelli, Tasha, Tray, and Tylon Hansford.
rprededed in death by husband, Sam Atkins in 1935, parents, son-in-law, Leon Salmon, two sons and two daughters, granddaughter, Jean Salmon Eiler.
