Obituary for Ruby Pearl Chaffin
Ruby Pearl (Reives) Chaffin, age 80, of Altus, passed away Monday, February 25, 2008 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus.
Ruby was born July 10, 1927 in detroit, Texas, to Jim and Gladys (Davis) Reives. She married Tom Wilson in 1945. She later married Frank Lovett in 1954 and he preceded her in death. Ruby married Edward Chaffin November 19, 1994, in Sayre, Oklahoma and they made their home in Altus.
Ruby is survived by her husband, Edward Chaffin of Altus; six children, Jim Lovett and his wife Brandy and Tom (T.J.) Luton and wife Mary, all of Seligman, Missouri, Betty Harter and husband Ray of Norwich, New York, Bobby Kazzar of Germany, Charles Beavers of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Charlotte Chappel and husband Phillip of Texas; grandchildren including Michelle, Micheal, Shane, Frank and wife Amy, Stacie, and Nickalaus; great-grandchildren including Dylan, Christian, Caitlyn, Brock, Zachary, Chelsey and Hailey. One brother, James Mills and a nephew Jamie Mills, both of Altus, also survive her.
She was preceded in death by her poarents, two children, Jerry McDowell and Roberta (Lovett) Maddox, her husbands, Thomas Wilson and Frank Lovett, and other loved ones.
Ruby was a wonderful, loving lady who had many talents. She loved to be in the company of those who were special to her. She will be greatly missed and remembered by all who knew her well. Grandma Ruby (or as a couple of little ones call her Grandma Roovy), we love you, and we will miss you.
Graveside services for Ruby Chaffin will be 11:00 am Monday, March 3, at the Altus City Cemetery with Reverend Boyd Whitehead officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus.
