Obituary for Ruby A. Hill
On Thursday, August 5, at 11:15 an Ruby Alma Hill, 92 departed this life, at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital, following a lengthy illness. She was born on June 8, 1907, in Idabel, Oklahoma to Charlie and Lottie King, one of three siblings.
Mrs Hill moved to the Altus area at an early age. She married John Henry Hill in 1925, to their union four children were born. Following her husband's untimely demise, she worked in many occupations. Her last job was at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital, where she retired after twenty-five years of service.
Mrs Hill was a lifetime member of St. John Baptist Church, The Heriones of Jericho, the Eastern Star Mason's Orders. In 1993, due to failing health, she moved to the English Village Manor Health Care Facility.
She was preceded in death by her husband, father, mother, sister, and brothers. She leaves to mourn four children, daughters; Martha Paul and Betty Lampkin, Altus, Oklahoma; sons; John Raleigh Hill of Altus, and Norris Henry Hill, Kansas City, Mo. eleven grandchildren, Larry, Wilber Kay, and Steven Madden, Phyllis, Clarence, and Byron Paul, Wayne, Norris Jr, and Jennifer Hill, Harold and Larry Hill. Eight great-grandchildren, Christopher, Eric, Patrice, Whitney, Nicolette, Stephanie, Crystal, and Michael,Jr. Three Great -great grandchildren, Raylan, Eric Jr. and Star.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 10, at 2:00pm with Rev. Robert Bostic and Rev. Thomas Hanes officiating, under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
