Obituary for Roy Coppock
Roy Coppock Roy Coppock of Altus, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2000 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus at the age of 85. Roy was born July 31, 1914, in Idabell, Oklahoma to Henry and Elizabeth (Dugan) Coppock. He married Addie Mable Willett January 2, 1936 in Hope Arkansas and to this union two children, Herman and Mary, were born. Mable preceded Roy in death June 11, 1994. He married Anne McGill July 18, 1997, in Altus. Roy moved from Ft. Morgan, Colorado to Altus in l976. He worked for Gifford Hill Western as a pipe machine operator for over thirty-five years and retired as a foreman for the company in 1976. Roy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Abernathy, Texas. He also enjoyed going to Senior Citizens in Altus. Roy is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Herman and Daina Coppock, of Altus; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Earl Carter of Spring Creek, Nevada, seven grandchildren, James Roy, Marian, Lisa, Matthew, Michelle, Ezra, and Rachel, and ten great-grandchildren, John, Bradley, Eric, Whitney, Evan, Kimberly, Felicia, Vanessa, Samantha, and Shannon. Graveside Services for Roy Coppock will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 7, 2000 at the Altus City Cemetery with Sonny Tims officiating. Lowell Tims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
