Obituary for Rose Marie Luebking
Rose Luebking, age 85, a longtime resident of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus.
Rose was born in Sycamore, Kansas on March 19, 1935 to her parents Carole Earnest Harvey and Mary Alice (Myers) Harvey. Rose completed first grade through fourth grade in Sycamore, Kansas until age nine and in 1945 Rose moved to Okarchee, Oklahoma after her parents passed away. Rose attended the Holy Trinity Catholic School in Okarchee where she was a proud graduate. During her school years at Holy Trinity, one her classmates was Stanley Rother, who later became recognized as a martyr for the faith and beautified as the Blessed Father Stanely Rother. Following high school Rose moved to Wichita Kansas where she worked at Mercy Hospital for one year. In 1954 Rose married Richard Eugene Luebking in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. As a young Air Force family, they were stationed in several air force communities until the family landed at Altus Air Force Base in Altus, Oklahoma where Rose had resided for many years. Rose worked at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital for over twenty-three years until she retired. She was a longtime member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Altus. Rose loved taking her children to the lake and she loved taking care of her grandchildren. She also enjoyed sewing and making halloween costumes for her children when they were young. Rose loved taking care of her flowers and especially her rose gardens and she took great care of her two yorkies that she loved very much.
Preceded in death by her husband Richard E. Luebking; her parents, Carole Earnest Harvey and Mary Alice Harvey; her brother, Raymond Charles Mansfield; and her sister, Betty Irene Groves; Rose is survived by her four children, Michael Luebking; Kevin Luebking; Beverly Thacker and husband Jim of Altus; and Donna Ducharme and husband David of Altus; her sister Retha Ann Vogt; grandchildren, Jeff Hubert and wife Karen; Melissa Hubert; Justin Ducharme and wife Lindsey; Kristopher Ducharme; Michael Luebking and wife Robin; Mark Luebking; Tara Block; Brandon Luebking; Kirk Luebking and wife Jessica; and Kala Crowder; great grandchildren, Brayden Waldroop; Trinity Crowder; Bordie Noble (was born yesterday); Cali Block; Braylon Rumsey; Kallen Luebking; Kathon and Eastyn Ducharme; Vincent and Jackson Luebking; Kaleb, Danika, and Barrett Hubert; as well as nieces and nephews, other family members, and many friends.
Rosary services will on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 from 6:30 pm until 7:00 pm at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Chapel in Altus.
Visitation will follow the rosary from 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Chapel in Altus.
Graveside Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at the Altus City Cemetery.
