Obituary for Romie L. Kirby
Mr. Romie L. Kirby, age 91, died Saturday night at the Altus House Nursing Home.

Services will be held Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. at the Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. A. L. Eaton and Rev. Willie Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Funeral Home.

Mr. Kirby was born July 22nd, 1896 at Greenville in Hunt County, Texas. He married Dora Shaw in 1924. She preceded him in death. To this union was born one daughter, Mrs. Romie L. Laury who also preceded him in death. He married Mrs. Pearl E. Walbert July 25, 1945. He was a member of the Wilson Pentecostal Holiness Church and the St. James Chapter of the Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include: his wife, Pearl Kirby of the home; one sister, Rosie Wells of Altus; two stepdaughters, Pearl Allen and Bertha Douglas of Altus; one stepson, Roy Walbert of Vernon, TX; 21 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
