Obituary for Robert Henry "Buck" Sifford
Robert Henry "Buck' Sifford, 82, longtime Eldorado resident passed away Monday, May 9, 2005, at Grace Living Center in Altus, Oklahoma.
Buck was born January 29, 1923, in Gainesville, Texas. He was the son of Ike Henery and Mary Ann (Faulkner) Sifford. He moved to Eldorado, Oklahoma as a small boy and was an intricate member of that community throughout his life. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Eldorado, the Eldorado Lions Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and was a 32 degree Mason. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Buck worked for the Sooner Boat Company in Eldorado for several years. He later worked for Jackson County District 3 as a grader operator and foreman for over 18 years.
In November of 1959, he and Dorothy Irene (Robnett) Holder were united in marriage in Eldorado. They had over 45 wonderful years together.
He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Dorothy; one step-daughter, Nelda Fagan of Seiling, Oklahoma; two grandsons and great-grandsons, Collin Fagan and his son, Connor of St. Louis, Missouri and Brendon Fagan and his son
Bradon of Sayer, Oklahoma; one sister, Lona Walker of Ft. Worth, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services have been scheduled for 2:00 pm, Thursday, May 12, 2005 at the First Baptist Church in Eldorado with Rev. Frank Mitchell and Rev. Pete Wylie officiating. Interment with Masonic Rites will follow in the Eldorado Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
