Obituary for Robert "Bob" J. Kuchar
Robert "Bob" J. Kuchar, age 75, longtime Altus, Oklahoma resident, passed away Friday, March 1, 2019 at his home in Altus.
Bob was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 8, 1943 to his parents Joseph Kuchar and Berniece Mary (Stawiarski) Kuchar. Bob was raised in Michigan and at the age of eighteen enlisted into the United States Air Force where he was a firefighter and was stationed at numerous Air Force Bases throughout the years. Bob served multiple deployments to Vietnam and retired from the Air Force with over twenty years of service to his country with an honorable discharge and he received numerous awards and decorations including the Air Force Commendation Medal. After retiring from the Air Force Bob started Kuchar's Roofing and Repairs in Altus, Oklahoma and he owned and operated his business for over twenty-one years before retiring. He married Patsy Ann (Marsh) Kuchar on July 20, 2005 and they have enjoyed many years of marriage together. Bob was a protestant and had a strong belief in God and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He was an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars for over 45 years where for the last twenty years he was a member of the VFW Post #5263, Lawton, Oklahoma. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed traveling, dancing, fishing, NASCAR, and watching his great grandkids. Bob served his country and his community and he will be missed greatly.
Bob is survived by his wife Patsy Kuchar of the home; two sons; three daughters; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren; as well as many other family members and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Berniece Kuchar.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel in Altus.
Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery Veterans Section with Military Honors rendered by the Altus Air Force Base Honors Detail.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus.
