Obituary for Rita Gallagher
Rita Laureen Gallagher was called home Thursday, June 30th, 2022, after a long battle with cancer at the age of 60.
Rita was born on July 15, 1961, to David Studer and Patricia (Strine) Studer in Cloverdale, CA. Rita was the 2nd of 4 children. She was always quite shy, but kind and well-liked by everyone she knew. Her parents moved their family to Lattusburg, Ohio in 1970 to be closer to relatives. That is where she got know her grandparents on her dad’s side and they took her & her siblings to church every Sunday. In 1975, they moved to Altus, OK. She finished school at Navajo and graduated in 1980, then moved to Texas in 1983. In 1986 she completed her degree at Dickinson Business School for accounting. She was working for Stainless Services, a company that handled all the Pepsi contracts, as an accounting clerk in Irving, TX. In August 1987, she had her son, Wesley. She took pride in her work and raising her son as a single mom. In 1994 Rita moved back to Blair, OK to be closer to family where she met her husband, Jim, and married shorty after on June 27, 1994. Rita became a member of Blair First Baptist Church in 1994. In February 1996, they had a daughter, Shannon. Jim and Rita worked together doing landscaping, roofing, and remodeling for many years, until she became a stay a home mom.
She enjoyed cooking, cross stitching, playing card games and board games, puzzles, and listening to music. She also loved researching family history and world events. She made sure her children did their best in school by double checking their homework and helping with their school projects. If you knew her, she thoroughly enjoyed organizing and everything had labels and its own place. Rita was devoted to her family and loved her children and grandchildren dearly.
Within the last year, Rita became closer to Jesus. She loved reading her Bible and daily devotionals, as well as other Christian books. She watched her Uncle Sam Studer’s sermons broadcast online and showed a true, longing relationship with Jesus.

Left to honor her memory, are her husband Jim Gallagher, son Wesley Nelson and wife Lacy, daughter, Shannon, her father David Studer, sister Rebecca Evans and husband Bryan, brother Dave Studer, grandchildren Luke, Tucker, Bryce, and Kyler, along with many family and friends.
