Obituary for Ricky Dale Brewer
Ricky Dale Brewer, 68, a life-long resident of Altus, Oklahoma passed away at home Thursday, June 30, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.

Ricky was born on March 8, 1954, in Altus, Oklahoma to Howard Brewer and Mattie Florene Brewer (Lindsey). He grew up in Altus and was a member of the Bulldogs' graduating class of 1972. Ricky joined the Army National Guard his senior year of high school and served 6 years. He later took some college courses and even learned how to build computers through Vo-Tech classes.

Ricky married the love of his life, Marsha Lewis on January 19, 1973, in Altus. They shared 49 wonderful years together. Ricky was a business owner and president of the Brewer Oil Company of Altus. He also owned AAA Portable Toilets until he sold the business in 2019, retiring that same year.

Ricky was a proud member of the First Baptist Church where he labored faithfully in several capacities. He taught 9th grade Sunday School, led the college ministry for several years, was ordained as a deacon in 1998, and dedicated almost 30 years of service to the church's TV ministry.

On a social level, Ricky served as Rotarian President of the Altus Chapter(2009-2010); was Rotarian of the Year (2011-2012), Rotarian Secretary/Treasurer (2014-2015), and served as Assistant Governor for Rotary District 5770. He was also a Councilman for the City of Altus from 1989-1998.

In his spare time, Ricky loved playing games with his kids and grandkids. Game night and pizza were requested often! He played everything from cards, board games, and dominoes to video games including Lego Rockband. Ricky was musically talented playing the bass guitar, trumpet and tuba. He was an avid waterskier and snowskier, taking his family on many vacations to lakes and the mountains as the kids grew up. Ricky was always ready for a party. He loved people but he especially loved his family and his Lord and Savior. Ricky had a beautiful bass voice and sang in a quartet and in the choir at church. He was a Gideon for many years, helping to deliver the gospel of Jesus Christ by distributing bibles to schools, motels, and hospitals

Ricky leaves behind a legacy of love, service and duty to others, and complete commitment to family & Christ. He gave so much and asked for so little. His kindness, faithfulness, and generosity will forever be remembered by the countless lives that he touched in his community.
